Jordan update
I just wanted to let everyone know that Jordan is doing really well. She took a tumble Thursday evening landing on her left side. She was complaining that her stomach hurt. Of course we thought that she would be fine and thought that she bruised her side. She feel alseep shortly afterwards but would only sleep for a little while and then wake up because she was in pain. She then started complaining of shoulder pain. At midnight I was convinced that we needed to take her to the ER and Jordan was asking to go. We got there and they checked her out. She got a x-ray of her shoulder which came back fine and also a CAT Scan of her abdonmen. She has a lacerated spleen. They decided that she needed to go to Las Vegas to Sunrise Children's hospital. She was transported by ambulance which was a first for Jordan and myself. When we got to Las Vegas the trama unit was waiting for her. They assessed her and sent her to the pedatric ICU. They have put her on strick bedrest. She has to lay on her back and that is all she can do. They don't even want her to get out of bed to go to the bathroom. She did well yesterday. She was awake most of the night and morning and sleep a lot of the afternoon. They are watching her vital signs and checking her blood level to make sure the internal bleeding has stopped. When we got here her level was at 10.5. They want it to stay above 10. The next time they checked it, it was 9.8 and has stayed there since. The trama doctor was in this morning. He said that she is doing well and stable but not out of the woods yet. He told us that they have not decided what they are planning to do with her spleen. No one wants it to come out, so we are hoping for the best. The plan for today is to continue to monitor her. She is on some pain meds. She has complained of pain quite a bit today. The nurse said that is quite painful. There is a chance that they will be moving her out of the PICU and to the pediatric floor today. We will find out later today. We just want to thank everyone for their phone calls and concern. She is doing great and has a full day set aside for watching movies. It is fun now, I just don't know how long it will last. Thanks Johnson's for bringing the kids to visit last night. Jordan was happy to see all of her boys.
